THE ORGANIZATION The Four-hour Day Foundation will remain an embryonic form of the four-hour day for a long time to come. We will never seek to rake in millions of dollars or play the standard political games. At this point, we require only a handful of people to comprehend non-violent economics and to formulate razor-sharp initiatives designed to promote four-hour philosophy. Why don't we, for instance, make all public transportation free? Why don't we invent other ways to celebrate Christmas by giving each other time instead of monetized neckties? Why can't unionized labor proceed directly to the six-hour day next month? Sooner or later, certain political constituencies will ally themselves with the four-hour day. The interests of ethnic and racial minorities -- together with those of organized labor and agriculture -- will eventually find a voice in the four-hour program. Renegade Christians and large numbers of disaffected, middle-class youth will migrate towards us. And, if ever there was a natural political match, it is the alliance of four-hour priorities with the aspirations of women worldwide. In all honesty, though, this political juggernaut currently remains a distant hope. In the meantime, your creativity and energy are indispensable. We need new and better articulations. We need to have a great many songs and poems written. We need to get the word out by insuring that the right people receive copies of the book. We could use all the media exposure we can get our hands on. We might want to start building whole new cities in the near future, and a little bit of money would go a along way. The sky's not even the limit, and it's entirely up to you. Call, write, or stop by for lunch. The Four-hour Day Foundation, Inc.
